This recipe was discovered while trying to figure out how to use frozen chicken strips. It turned out pretty well. The original recipe was on the back of the frozen chicken strip’s bag. I didn’t have one of the ingredients at the time, but that was the only adaption.
Market Pantry (Frozen) Grilled Chicken Strips Pasta Toss recipe:
Ingredients:
-About 2 1/2 cups of rotini pasta
-1 small zucchini diced (about 1 cup)
-1 Tbsp olive oil
-3 to 4 cloves of garlic, minced
-3 cups frozen chicken strips
-1 cup grape or roma tomatoes (I didn’t have this, so it was omitted)
-2 cups pasta sauce (I used Ragu’s Marinara)
-1/4 cup parmesan cheese
*I added Italian Seasoning to both the sauce and the chicken strips
Directions:
Cook pasta according to directions. Dice zucchini. Add zucchini during the last 5 minutes of cooking time. Drain.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add garlic, chicken, and Italian Seasoning. Cook and stir for 3 minutes.
Add sauce and tomatoes (which I didn’t have…) and mix well.
Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes or until hot and chicken is heated thoroughly.
Toss sauce mixture with pasta and zucchini.
Serve with parmesan sprinkled on top.
