My husband loves meat. I don’t like ground beef, so hamburgers are out. The compromise is to make steak, so I made steaks out of chuck, the least expensive fresh beef I could find.
Ingredients:
2 beef chuck slabs fresh
1 yellow onion
4 to 5 garlic cloves
Mrs. Dash
Coarse black pepper
Olive oil
Directions:
Slice onions and garlic cloves.
Heat olive oil to medium-high in a skillet.
Sautee onions and garlic in skillet until they begin to toast.
Dry meat with fresh paper towels before adding the beef to the hot skillet with the onions and garlic.
Sprinkle Mrs. Dash over the top side of the meat and add to the other side once first side is browned.
Cook beef until the meat is at least medium well to well done.
*Remove onions and garlic from skillet if you don’t want them to get semi-charred. My husband liked the smokey flavor of the semi-charred onions, so I left them in the skillet until the meat was done.
Served with Baked Red Potatoes, steamed veggies, and Pepperidge Farms Garlic Texas Toast.
